Chicago - A message from the station manager

The [Thursday] Papers

By Steve Rhodes

“Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn crossed the Fox Network for the second time this week when his campaign re-used an image of Simpsons villain Mr. Burns in a video spot attacking Quinn’s Republican challenger Bruce Rauner,” CSNChicago reports.
“After Fox complained, YouTube yanked the 40-second anti-Rauner ad, posting the notice: ‘This video contains content from FOX, which has blocked it on copyright grounds.'”
Even Montgomery Burns doesn’t want to be compared to Bruce Rauner.

Scheduling Conflict
Trib headline: “Too Soon To Say If Cubs Will Make Early July Deal.”
Um, it is early July; almost too late to say.
Money Madness
“City Hall paid $6.5 million during the past year to the company that’s leasing Chicago’s parking meters – about $500,000 more than Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration predicted when it renegotiated the deal,” the Tribune reports.
But $1.5 million less than Rahm just received in campaign contributions.
