“Does Lisa Madigan have a race on her hands?” asks Sun-Times political reporter Natasha Korecki.
“A new poll looking at the contest for Illinois Attorney General shows the Democratic incumbent leading her Republican opponent Paul Schimpf by just 9 percentage points.”
Wow! That is news.
“The poll was paid for by Schimpf.”
Jesus H. Christ in a bucket! Are you kidding me?


Here’s a poll: 100 percent of those reached said the Sun-Times has their head up their ass. Caveat: I paid for the poll.

First, the poll was conducted by McKeon & Associates.
If it please the court, I re-enter Exhibit A in the People v. Sun-Times and McKeon & Associates.
Second:
“The telephone poll also included a series of questions gauging what voters were looking for in a candidate for attorney general. And some of those questions – asked before the ‘who-would-you-vote-for’ question – could be seen as casting Madigan in a less than favorable light.
“One question asked whether the person surveyed would be more or less likely to vote for someone whose ‘Father is Illinois Speaker of the House and as Attorney General has rarely pursued political corruption cases.'”
Yes, I suppose that could be seen as casting Madigan in a less than favorable light. I’ll have to think about it more to say for sure, though.

Here’s another question:
“Would you be much more likely, somewhat more likely somewhat less likely or not likely at all to vote for a candidate for Illinois Attorney General who . . .
“Has worked in government and politics all her life?”
Her?
And so on.

I also don’t know how McKeon determines “very likely” voters. The methodology available merely says that registered voters were polled.
Maybe they only polled voters who were very registered.

You know what else is missing in that Madigan poll story? A response from the Madigan campaign. No indication they were even asked.

Another question:
“Should the next Illinois Attorney General be a strong advocate for veterans, including suing federal veteran’s hospitals that are not giving Illinois veterans proper treatment?”
What I wanna know is who are the 2 percent who said No.
