*
From her time in Cleveland:
“When times were good, Cleveland schools Chief Executive Barbara Byrd-Bennett was touted as a possible candidate for mayor and was whispered to be a contender for just about every big-city superintendent’s job that came open across the country,” the Plain Dealer reported in 2012.
“When her star fell, she was seen as such a liability that neither her face nor her name could be found on fliers pushing last Tuesday’s school tax.”
