Will Mary Richards Go To Jail?

When Mary refuses to reveal a source, she is found in contempt of court and is sent to jail, where she befriends two prostitutes.

From Communication Law in America:

"The narrative lost a bit of credibility when the character explains that she will be 'out tomorrow morning' because her lawyer is paying her bail."

The problem? Bail isn't applicable in cases like this.

TV Guide: "Ed. Weinberger and Stan Daniels earned an Emmy for their script."

Named the 11th-best MTM episode (not involving Chuckles the Clown) by Vulture.
