Bats, Bears And Bongos: Milwaukee's Boo At The Zoo

The Milwaukee County Zoo will be filled with a host of Halloween activities at Boo at the Zoo on October 19 & 20, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Here are some of the barely scary activities:

* Join our Halloween Haystack Maze, creatively constructed with haystacks and costumed characters! See how fast you can finish through the winding pathways!

* Enjoy our glowing and hand-carved pumpkins in the outdoor Pumpkin Patch! Then, continue on to the "Forest Trail at Wolf Woods Crossing" to see our illuminated pumpkins, as this display glows and glitters against a backdrop of a dancing light show!

* Have a howling good time and meet our popular (and friendly) Halloween character, Captain Jack Sparrow, as he entertains visitors.

* Do your best bat imitation and choose bat ears to wear, such as an insectivore or vampire species.

* Our majestic felines, including jaguars and cheetahs, will be your companions as you choose your favorite temporary tattoo to show-off!

* Go batty and learn more about these winged mammals. You'll also see that bats are a bit mysterious, and yet, play a very beneficial role in our natural world.

* An eerie adventure awaits as you hop aboard our Safari Train turned "Raven's Rail," for a spooky spin around the park, complete with pumpkin critters along the way!

* Enjoy a traditional fall treat, caramel apples! These satisfying treats are available for purchase courtesy of the American Association of Zookeepers (AAZK).

* Don't forget our favorite storybook characters, Harry and Fred, as they invite you to take part in yet another one of their spirited adventures!
