The Weekend Desk Report

What a week to take a vacation! Ron Paul became a credible threat, the NBA season kicked off and Britney Spears was apparently replaced by the only person with worse hair than Justin Beiber. Here are the stories still left to cover.

Market Update
How bad was 2011 on the financial markets? So bad two countries said "fuck it" and skipped to 2012 early.

Primary Obstacles
Do we have to do this? Oh fine. With the 2012 primary season finally upon us, the frontrunners are pulling out all the stops. Newt Gingrich shook out a few tears, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul shook their tail feathers, and Rick Perry looks set to shake things up by finishing 2nd alternate in Iowa.

Bowl Season
With most marquee match-ups pushed by the weekend holiday, the football viewer is left with slim pickings. You can either watch the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on Saturday or just wait for the Kraft Generate Wealth Disparity Bowl playing out pretty much weekly.

War on Wars
Finally this week, why settle for repelling nuisance species? With a little coordination, we could take down the whole noxious system.
