The [Tuesday] PapersThis is the tweet that got me blocked from Amara Enyia's campaign feed. Take a stroll through @BeachwoodReport to learn more about her pattern of phony claims, exaggerations and evasions. And there's still more that's not out there yet.
* Or you can start with the thread here: — Beachwood Reporter (@BeachwoodReport) February 11, 2019 * Plus:
* Instead of reporting on the pattern of Amara's mistruths, the Sun-Times gives her a megaphone to mischaracterize the issue - just as they did when she "responded" to the Tribune article detailing her tax problems among other issues. Either debunk the reporting or take it further, but don't just let the subject spin a further tale of deceit, my god. * If it was just about marathons and Ironman competitions, she might have a point - though not with the folks embedded in those communities. But it's not just about that, it's about a disturbing pattern of resume-padding and false claims that lay bare a grifter. See also:
* Also, Enyia's tenure as interim village manager of University Park was a disaster that hasn't been fully reported on. HMU! * By the way, Curtis Black also wrote the best piece I've seen on Willie Wilson. * Now, granted, Bill Daley is the big kahuna out there who hasn't been properly vetted yet. But in a race that could turn on the slimmest of margins, it's important to know the truth about each and every candidate. * For example, Bill Daley is a former banker and corporate lobbyist who was paid handsomely to use his name and connections to make rain for a bunch of bad guys. He was President Clinton's point man on NAFTA - and he's often credited with getting it passed despite knowing nothing about it by "finding the price" of every lawmaker whose vote was needed. He's refused to release his taxes, which I guess is acceptable to Democrats unless the subject is Donald Trump or Bruce Rauner. He defended Chicago's infamous parking meter deal - which made bank for his son. He called Robert Vanecko "basically a good kid." He's tried to make a virtue out of spending his life getting rich instead of following his family into politics, but what was the impact of his business maneuvers on everday lives? Also, he's been involved in politics from day one, including acting as his brother Rich's chief advisor. There's only two weeks left until Election Day - and early voting has already begun - and a thorough accounting of Bill Daley's career is the big hole in the reporting I see at this juncture. * I similarly feel Gery Chico could use a little more scrubbing. And I'm surprised Paul Vallas hasn't been asked more about his chartering of the New Orleans school district and the sexual assault scandal on his watch at CPS. The clock is ticking! - ChicagoReddit You squeezed on to the brown line at Belmont but your loofah shower brush got stuck in the door as you left at Southport. We all had a good laugh. I will leave it at the Southport station house for you. from r/chicago - ChicagoGram - ChicagoTube Congress Parkway Renamed For Ida B. Wells - TweetWood
